What is a service crane?
A truck-mounted lifting system used by field-service crews to lift, load, and position heavy parts, tools, and equipment during repair and maintenance work - without bringing in a separate crane.
What size crane do I need for a service truck?

What's the difference between a service crane and a knuckle-boom crane?
"Service crane" describes how it's used - on a mechanic or service truck. "Knuckle-boom" describes an articulating boom design. The two overlap; what matters is capacity, reach, and how it deploys in your space.
What's the advantage of continuous rotation?
It lets the crane rotate a full 360° without a fixed arc, so operators can position a load from any angle without repositioning the truck, which is useful in tight spots.
Do service cranes need outriggers?
Often, yes - depending on capacity, reach, load, and truck setup. The TKA 8800 offers optional outriggers; the load chart and a fitment review tell you what your application needs.
What truck do I need for an 8,800 lb service crane?
